Once diabetes occurs, there is no cure for it. Only this disease can be controlled. People take medicines to control diabetes, but can diabetes also be treated with Ayurveda? Ayurveda expert Professor Binaji Rao of JSS College, Mysore said that the risk factor of diabetes can be reduced through purgation. Under Virechana, Ayurvedic medicine, oil, ghee or both are given to the patient with warm water for three or five days. By doing this, those defects are removed from the body which increase the risk of diabetes.
Dr. Binaji says that to reduce the risk of diabetes, it is necessary to purify the body at least once a year. Catharsis can prove helpful in this. Virechana is a medical term which means purification of body disorders through laxative medicine. Professor Binaji Rao said that along with this treatment, medicines like Emery Plus and BGR-34 have also been found beneficial in diabetic patients.
