UK will provide training to Ukraine Army - Sunak
President Zelensky's visit to the UK is a testimony to the courage, determination and fighting spirit of his country and a testimony to the unbreakable friendship between our two countries, Sunak said. He said, since 2014, the UK has provided vital training to Ukrainian forces, enabling them to defend their country and sovereignty and fight for their territory. I'm proud that today we will extend that training from soldiers to Marines and fighter jet pilots, ensuring that Ukraine has a military capable of defending its interests well into the future.
Downing Street said the robust training proposal would ensure Ukrainian pilots would be able to fly sophisticated North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) standard fighter jets in future. "It underscores our commitment not only to providing military equipment for the short term, but also to our long-term resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine for years to come," he said.
