Sikkim Flood: Sikkim, one of the north-eastern states of the country, has been wreaked havoc by nature. According to the information received, today the morning has started very frightening in Sikkim and there is news of 23 army soldiers missing due to flood caused by cloud burst in the state. Actually, a cloud burst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim, due to which there was sudden flood in Teesta River. However, there was an army camp near this valley of Teesta river which got hit by the flood due to which 23 army soldiers were reported missing.
Apart from this, due to this terrible flood tragedy, many vehicles also got hit by it and were washed away with the current of the river. According to the information received, a search operation is going on to find the army personnel and efforts are being made to locate them as soon as possible.
Teesta river water level suddenly increased
Let us tell you that due to heavy rains in Sikkim, the water level of Teesta river suddenly increased. Apart from this, there is news that due to increased pressure due to cloud burst, water had to be released from Chungthang Dam due to which the lower areas of Teesta river got flooded with more water. Due to this, people are being evacuated from the low lying areas of Teesta river so that they can be saved from this disaster. Due to this severe flood, along with people, army vehicles have also been affected.
Search operation continues
23 Army soldiers are reported missing due to the sudden floods in Sikkim. However, the army is busy searching for the missing soldiers by conducting a rescue operation. It is being said that there is so much water in the areas around the river that even rescue operations are facing problems.
CM Prem Singh Tamang’s appeal to the people
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has appealed to the people regarding this horrific tragedy in Sikkim. He has said that in this difficult situation people should not come out of their homes unnecessarily. The CM has also said that to deal with this terrible disaster in the state, all essential services will be continued in the affected areas so that it can be dealt with as soon as possible.
