Sisodia accused BJP of leaking the video
Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia accused the BJP of leaking Jain’s video from Tihar Jail and claimed that he was undergoing physiotherapy due to a spinal injury. He said that the ED was directed by the court not to leak the video in question. Sisodia said, “Leaking the video is in violation of the court’s direction.” Sisodia, who is in charge of the prisons department, alleged that Jain was implicated in a false case and the BJP was resorting to such tactics as it was losing the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Gujarat Assembly polls.
Delhi politics intensified on the issue of owner
Opposition parties Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress on Saturday targeted the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after a video of Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain getting a massage and meeting visitors in jail surfaced. Opposition parties questioned Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s “silence” on the entire issue, demanding Jain’s sacking from the cabinet. On the other hand, senior AAP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia came to the rescue of Jain. Sisodia claimed that he had suffered a spinal injury due to which he was undergoing ‘physiotherapy’. He also accused the BJP of playing petty politics over Jain’s health issues by leaking the CCTV footage.
Complaint filed against Jain and Kejriwal
BJP MP Parvesh Verma along with party colleagues Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Tajinder Pal Bagga have filed a police complaint against Jain and Kejriwal, accusing them of carrying out illegal activities in jail. Bagga took a dig at Sisodia for defending Jain, saying he had fought with his ‘physiotherapist’ over why he was not given foot and head massage for his spinal injury. The BJP in its press conference played Jain’s purported video from the jail cell where the party’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia termed AAP as a “spa massage” party. Several more videos have been shared on social media.
