Broken Shiva idol
Once again an attempt has been made to disturb social harmony in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. After breaking the statue of Lord Shiva installed in the Shiva temple located at Barkhan intersection in Nawabganj, Bareilly, some miscreant also put a slip with name and number written on it. There was inflammatory language written in that slip. The devotees who went to worship in the temple were shocked when they saw the hand of Shiva’s idol broken. Within no time the information spread rapidly and a crowd of people gathered in the temple.
On receiving the information, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) officials and District President Baburam reached the temple and took information about the entire incident. VHP’s city minister Nand Kishore lodged a complaint with Nawabganj police station and requested for action. On the complaint of the Municipal Minister, the police station has registered an anonymous case and started investigating the matter.

Nandkishore, resident of village Dumariya of Nawabganj police station of Bareilly, told that he is the city minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Nawabganj. When the people of the neighborhood went to worship in the temple of Lord Shiva in the cremation ground located at Barkhan intersection Nawabganj, they saw the idol of the temple broken. Nandkishore said that a leaflet was also pasted on the statue by some unknown person. This is hurting the sentiments of Hindu people.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad filed complaint
At the same time, efforts are being made to spoil the communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims. In this matter he has filed a case against an unknown person. He also says that even before this, some miscreants of the city had tried to spoil the atmosphere. Such an incident has happened before also. Earlier also the idol of Lord Shiva was vandalized at the temple. Such people are not desisting from mischief every day and are trying to spoil the atmosphere of the city. He said that strict action should be taken against such people.
Case registered against unknown
In the whole matter, Inspector Crime Vinod Kumar said that after the incident, a case has been registered against unknown people. At the same time, the investigating police is interrogating the suspects. Police said that strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in this case.
