The dispute between Trinamool Congress and the Central Government regarding payment of MNREGA funds has increased. Delhi Police has not given permission to Trinamool Congress to hold a protest program at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. However, Trinamool Congress has been given permission to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 3. Nevertheless, the Trinamool leadership is sticking to its protest program in front of Ramlila Maidan and Krishi Bhawan.
Delhi Police has verbally rejected the request. According to Trinamool sources, Trinamool will wait till September 23, after which it will approach the court.
Trinamool Congress is planning to stage a protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi from September 31 to October 4 in protest against the Center not paying the dues to Bengal. Trinamool Congress camp has sought permission from Delhi Police for this.
Apart from this, permission has been sought to demonstrate in front of Krishi Bhawan on October 2 and 3. Trinamool Congress leaders claim that till now 4 letters have been given to Delhi Police for all these programmes. But, no reply has been received to any letter.
There will be a gathering of TMC leaders in Delhi.
According to Trinamool sources, all MPs, MLAs, Zilla Parishad presidents and Panchayat Samiti presidents have been ordered to be present in Delhi within October 1 to stage a protest in Delhi over the dues of Bengal.
On October 2, Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee will visit the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. Trinamool Congress’ protest program will start in Delhi by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. At the same time, Trinamool leaders in Bengal will stage a protest under the Gandhi statue in Kolkata.
Demonstration from Delhi to village
Apart from this, tribute will be paid to Gandhiji by putting his photo in front of all Gram Panchayat offices. A screen will be installed in front of the Panchayat office to show the program of Delhi. The top leadership of the village people is protesting in Delhi regarding the dues. This matter will be brought before the people of the village.
On October 3, the Trinamool Congress leadership will march from Jantar Mantar to Krishi Bhawan. All MPs, MLAs and Zilla Parishad Chairman will also participate in this programme. Some councilors will also participate. Trinamool leaders will go to Krishi Bhavan with 50 lakh letters on ‘deprivation of Bengal by the Centre’. Before the march, the leadership will stage a protest at Jantar Mantar.
