The fast moving BJP in Gujarat is on the way to create history. Years of hard work and dedication of Narendra Modi is behind this big victory. The wonder of his micro and macro strategies is that today BJP has become the biggest party at the national level. From becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat till now, in the journey of the last 22 years, he did not lose any election and kept expanding the scope of saffron in the country. After leaving the state, he entered the politics of the center and proved himself as a winner. Today we are telling you the story of The Making of Winner, how Modi Magic was prepared.
How did Narendra Modi become an election winning leader for the BJP? Know, what are the major reasons for this…
Ticket distribution: The tradition of giving ticket to the winner of every election changed
In the last decade, BJP has made a big change in the system of ticket distribution. To strengthen the party and win the elections, PM Modi chose people from different fields whom the public is aware of. He included sportspersons, writers, artists, poets, social workers, retired armed personnel and bureaucrats in the list of tickets. In order to connect the party with every class, started giving tickets to the backward. Research in the constituency and the identity of the candidate were also made the basis of the ticket. Every time the tradition of giving ticket to the winning candidate changed. Its effect was also visible.
Research: Understood the mind of the public from the political survey
Narendra Modi started the political survey. With the help of this, it was understood that what the public thinks about BJP, how much they like the party and how closely they are understanding the policies of BJP. On the basis of the survey, such political campaigns were launched which would work to bring back the voters who had gone away from the BJP. Through these it was also understood that in which part of the constituency the party is strong and where it is backward. While being a Sangh Pracharak, Narendra Modi used to try to understand what the people of the country think about the RSS. The same idea was implemented for the party as well.
Campaigns: The Art of Connecting the Masses with Rallies
In 1995, when Narendra Modi became in-charge of Chandigarh, there was a phase of meetings with the workers. He directly asked the workers to tell me a program which was organized by the BJP and more than 2 thousand people attended it. This question of Modi had surprised everyone. After this, Parivartan rally was organized in Chandigarh. Then the BJP got victory in the elections held there one after the other. BJP implemented this formula.
When Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, he had to face the assembly elections in the very next year i.e. 2002. He started Gaurav Yatra in Gujarat. This was a different experiment of its kind. Gujaratis welcomed the 3000 kilometer long journey and people gathered in large numbers. After this Sadbhavna Yatra left its impact on Gujaratis. Through these visits, Narendra Modi directly connected with the people. Continuing this experiment, he started the Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra in 2012 to connect the youth with the party. After this, this journey of connecting people continued.
Manifesto: Trying to fulfill what was told to the public
In the election manifesto, Modi made only that promise to the public which can be fulfilled. In the 2007 Gujarat assembly elections, the Congress raised the issue of waiving the electricity bill. The then Chief Minister Modi was also under pressure for this. Party people suggested to him that BJP should include it in its manifesto. Modi’s answer to this was that if this is done then I am not going to become a leader. If this happens then the wrong message will be sent. Whatever progress I have made in Gujarat, it will undermine its base and it was not included in the manifesto.
Booth Management: Gave the slogan ‘Our booth is the strongest’
Year after year, BJP has further strengthened its strategy to improve booth management. Modi has always believed that elections should be treated like a science. As in-charge in Chandigarh, he insisted that there should be a team of at least 11 people in the booth. There should be two people inside, one is the reliever and the other is the attender, one is sitting outside on the table. One is collecting slips. Not only this, he should contact such people who have not voted yet. He gave the slogan “Our booth, the strongest”. To come to power, BJP runs booth programs throughout the year. Door-to-door campaign of BJP became the most popular.
Panna Pramukh: Initiative taken to connect the public
Under the supervision of Narendra Modi, leaders from the booth to the national level were entrusted with the responsibilities of Panna Pramukh so that the booth could be strengthened. During his tenure as Chief Minister in Gujarat, he started the concept of Booth Management and Panna Pramukh. While holding the post of Chief Minister, he also inspired the organization and the workers associated with it by performing the responsibility of Panna Pramukh at a booth in Gujarat.
