Indian youth are now being used in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Recently, youths from Punjab and Haryana who had gone to Russia on tourist visa were cheated and forcefully recruited into the army. When TV9 talked to Gurpreet, a resident of Hoshiarpur (Doaba), Punjab, stranded in Russia, he narrated his entire story. Gurpreet has made many important revelations in this conversation.
After training these youths who went to Russia for 15 days, they were sent to fight the war against Ukraine. About seven Indian youth have shared a video on social media wearing army uniforms from Russia. Everything has been disclosed in this video. In the video released, 5 youths are from Punjabi and two from Haryana. Four of the youth from Punjab are residents of Doaba region.

Gurpreet, a resident of Halta village of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, while talking to TV9, said that we had entered Belarus by mistake. From where we were caught. The next day everyone was handed back to the Russian Army. We were kept in a closed room for two days. On the third day, I and all my colleagues were presented in the office of a senior official.

Hindi speaking person called
All the officers were talking in Russian language. No officer was speaking in English. From morning till evening the officers talked in Russian language only. When no one came for some time, the officials there got them to talk to a Hindi speaking person. He also knew Russian and also spoke Hindi well.
If you don't join the army, you will face 10 years in jail.
The Hindi speaking person told us that you should join the Russian Army. You will benefit a lot from this. Gurpreet said that all of us had clearly refused to join the army. He was given various kinds of inducements by a Hindi speaking person, but he did not accept anyone as his partner. After this they started scaring them. The Hindi speaking person said that if they do not join the army then everyone will be imprisoned for 10 years.

Gurpreet said that we requested the officials but no official was ready to listen to us at all. All the friends were scared after hearing the name of ten year sentence. On this everyone advised that he would work for a year. The officials signed a contract written in the local language with them. Their phones were collected.
15 days training
After everything happened, he was shifted to Moscow. Earlier it was said that he had to work only as a helper in the army. Nothing much to do. He stayed in Moscow for about seven days. After this he was sent to another camp. Where he was trained for about 15 days. He had found their phones during training. As soon as the training was over, he was sent to the war zone. Where the war is going on right now. After this, he bought a SIM and narrated his ordeal to his family and appealed to the Government of India for help.
2 out of 7 youth from Haryana
Talking to TV9, Gurpreet said that our demand is that the Indian government should start efforts to bring us back as soon as possible. Many Indians have been killed before our eyes. Gurpreet told that currently there are seven people with him, out of which two are from Haryana. Five youths are from Punjab. Gurpreet said that there were other Indian people in the previous camp, who were trapped in the clutches of the Russian Army.

Gurpreet's brother Amrit Singh, resident of Jalandhar, told that his brother had gone to visit Russia on December 27 last year. While roaming in Russia, he entered Belarus. Where he was arrested by the police there. After this he was handed over to the Russian Army. Where the army deployed on the border said that either you serve ten years of imprisonment or join our army for one year.
No training was given to use weapons.
Amrit said that Gurpreet told in the conversation that considering his own well-being, he thought it right to join the army for a year. Before joining, Gurpreet was given training in weapons and other things for 15 days. Amrit said that my brother has been sent to the war zone by the army.
