Voting will be held today for Rajasthan Assembly elections, for which all preparations have been completed. This is the first time that voting for assembly elections will be for 11 hours instead of the usual nine hours. Voting will start from 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. Voting will be held on 199 seats in the state. The Election Commission says that 51 thousand 890 polling stations have been set up in the state, where 5 crore, 26 lakh, 90 thousand, 146 voters will decide the fate of the candidates.
According to the Commission, this time there are 1 crore, 70 lakh, 99 thousand, 334 youth voters in the age group of 18 to 30 years in Rajasthan. At the same time, there are 22 lakh, 61 thousand, eight voters in the age group of 18-19 who will vote for the first time. Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta says that a total of 10,501 polling stations in the state are in urban areas and 41,006 have been made in rural areas. At the same time, live webcasting will be done at 26,393 polling stations. These polling centers will be monitored from the district level control room.
If EVM breaks down, it will be repaired immediately.
He has told that 65,277 ballot units, 62,372 control units and 67,580 VVPAT machines including reserves will be used for voting across the state. Besides, 6,287 micro observers and 6247 sector officers have been appointed as reserves. One additional EVM machine has also been given to all the sector officers, who will take action for repair and replacement if any EVM related defect is reported.
Praveen Gupta says that if there is any fault in EVM, then two Bell engineers will be present in every assembly to resolve it with immediate effect. As soon as the information about EVM is received, these engineers will reach the spot. He said that 2 lakh, 74 thousand, 846 polling personnel will conduct the voting. 7960 women polling personnel will take command at women managed polling stations and 796 disabled polling personnel will take command at disabled managed polling stations. Wheel chairs have been arranged at all the booths, so that no elderly or disabled person has to face any problem.
More than one lakh security personnel deployed for elections
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph says that 1 lakh, 2 thousand, 290 security personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful voting. Of these, 69,114 policemen, 32,876 Rajasthan Home Guard, Forest Guard and RAC personnel are deployed. Apart from this, 700 companies of CAPF have been deployed. 3 flying squads and 3 SST teams will be deployed in every assembly constituency.
He said that at least three QRTs will be available at every polling booth. Sealing and checking action has been taken at the check posts on the 4850 km long interstate border with the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab with the aim of preventing the entry of outsiders.
1862 candidates are in the fray in Rajasthan elections

- 198 candidates of Congress and 199 candidates of BJP are in the fray.
- 56 small parties have also entered the electoral battle.
