Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has given a big gift to the residents of Faridkot. Promoting the overall development of the district, the Chief Minister on Friday dedicated important projects worth about Rs 55.80 crore to the people and laid the foundation of many projects. During this time he introduced new M.P.S. Including 14 M.L.D. Sewerage treatment plant with capacity of 100,000 acres was dedicated to the people. He said that it has cost Rs 25.71 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has already kept Rs 9.71 crore for this project. According to the project, this building will have offices of 21 departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will provide great convenience to the people of Jaits and Kotkapura area. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction, widening and strengthening of 15.925 km road from Faridkot-Ferozepur road to Pakkhi Kalan-Pahluwala Khawaja road.
Big projects for the development of Faridkot
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that this project costing Rs 12.01 crore will provide facilities to the people of Pakkhi Kalan, Pehluwala, Khawaja Kharak, Mallewal and nearby villages. The traffic problem in the area will be solved. Bhagwant Mann said that this work has started and it will be completed before August 2024. He also announced to start more projects worth Rs 144.35 crore for Faridkot in the near future.
Which are the projects?
The Chief Minister said that this includes special repair of link roads with a cost of Rs 8.99 crore, construction of Sports School in Jand Sahib with a cost of Rs 3.82 crore, construction of PHC in Jand Sahib with a cost of Rs 4.30 crore. And construction of bypass from Faridkot-Deep Singh Wala to Amritsar Bathinda National Highway at a cost of Rs 62.29 crore.
He further said that similarly, Rs 4.42 crore was spent on the construction of multipurpose auditorium in Government Barjindra College, Rs 1.58 crore was spent on upgrading the infrastructure in Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College, Rs 20.54 crore were spent on the construction of steel bridge on Kotkapura to Faridkot Rajasthan Feeder Canal. Rs 15.64 crore will be spent on the construction of steel bridge on Faridkot to Kotkapura Sirhind feeder canal, village Machaki Mall Singh and Rs 22.77 crore will be spent on the construction of steel bridge on Faridkot to Mudki Rajasthan feeder and Talwandi to Faridkot Sirhind canal. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed hope that these projects will further promote the overall development of Faridkot district.
