PM Modi had dedicated the Sela Tunnel to the country on Saturday 9 March.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently inaugurated the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh. China had expressed strong protest against the Prime Minister's visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Chinese Foreign Ministry lodged a diplomatic protest regarding this and Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wenbin had said that the Chinese government has never recognized Arunachal Pradesh as a part of India. Apart from this, it was also said by China's MFA that this step of the Prime Minister will further complicate the border dispute between the two countries. Now the Indian Foreign Ministry has given its reaction on this stance of China.
“Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India”
Responding to media queries regarding the comments of China MFA spokesperson on the Prime Minister's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We reject the comments of China MFA regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, just as they visit other states of India. It is not right to object to such visits or India's developmental projects. Moreover, such arguments will not change the reality that the State of Arunachal Pradesh is and will always remain an integral and inseparable part of India. China has been informed about this several times.”
