Announcement of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those who died in the Bhiwandi tragedy
Bhivandi Tragedy Updates: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed condolence over the collapse of a three-storey building on Saturday (April 29) afternoon in Bhiwandi in Thane district, adjacent to Mumbai. Along with this, he has ordered the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to give an amount of Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of those who died in this accident. It has also been announced that the treatment of the injured will be done at government expense. As people are being pulled out of the debris, arrangements are being made to take them to the hospital immediately.
Police, fire brigade, NDRF team and other people engaged in rescue have been instructed to carry out the rescue work properly and the injured have been asked to be taken to the hospital immediately, so that they can be treated properly. So far 3 people have died in this accident and 12 people have been saved safely. But there is still a possibility of 20 to 30 people being buried under the debris.

20 to 30 people still buried under the debris
The incident took place between 12 to 1 pm on Saturday afternoon. This ground plus two storey i.e. a total of three storey building collapsed suddenly. There was a warehouse on the ground floor. 15 laborers were working in this godown. About 8 of these laborers are still trapped in the debris. In the floor above it, 5 members of 4 families, big and small, got trapped inside. The third floor above this had a tin shed. That is, there was no concrete roof in the topmost floor. In this floor, 9 people big and small got trapped inside. In this way, 8 workers of the ground floor and five and nine i.e. 14 members of the upper two floors are still buried under the debris. That means at least 20 to 30 people are still buried under the debris.
Identification of the dead, names of those rescued
The three people who have died so far include Navnath Sawant (35 years), Laxmi Devi (26 years) and Sona Mukesh Kori (4.5 years). The names of 8 of those rescued have been revealed. These include Parmeshwar Kamble (22 years), Shivkumar Kamble (26 years), Muktar Roshan Mansuri (26 years), Chiku Rohit Singh (5 years), Prince Rohit Singh (3 years), Vikas Kumar Mukesh (18 years), Udaybhan Muniram Yadav. (25 years) and Anita (30 years).

TDRF 20, NDRF 35 responders present at the spot
When the building collapsed, the local people informed the rescue team. As soon as the information was received, the team of Bhiwandi Fire Brigade, the rescue team of Thane Municipal Corporation and the police reached the spot and rescue operations were started immediately. After this the NDRF team also reached. At present, 20 TDRF and 35 NDRF personnel are present at the spot. Along with this, 11 ambulances and one vehicle of Bhiwandi fire department are present. The rescue work has started since afternoon. People buried under the debris are being searched with the help of dog squad.
