National President of Congress Mallikarju Kharge has said – Chhattisgarh government is doing very good work for the upliftment of the poor. He said that in the last five years, 40 lakh people have come out of the poverty line. On the occasion of Farmers cum Workers Conference organized at Sumabhatha in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, he said that an amount of Rs 2.25 lakh crore has been sent directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries. He said that the general public of the state is getting full benefits of all the schemes of the Chhattisgarh government. In this conference, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also launched the Chief Minister Construction Workers Pension Assistance Scheme for the welfare of the workers.
In this scheme, there is a provision to provide pension assistance of Rs 1500 every month for the entire life to the workers who have been registered for ten years and have completed 60 years of age. Also, Rs 1895 crore of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana was transferred to 24 lakh 52 thousand 592 farmers of the state. Apart from this, an incentive amount of Rs 5 crore 16 lakh was given to 65 thousand cow dung sellers of Godhan Nyay Yojana and incentive amount of Rs 57 crore 18 lakh was also deposited in the accounts of 33 thousand 642 sugarcane producing farmers.
Distribution of amount of Rs 55 crore to beneficiaries
In the conference, an amount of Rs 55 crore 76 lakh 26 thousand was distributed to 1 lakh 2 thousand 889 beneficiaries under various schemes. These include Rs 3 crore 86 lakh to 2881 beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers Social Security Board, Rs 1 crore 65 lakh to 3236 beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh Labor Welfare Board and Rs 50 crore 24 lakh to 96 thousand 772 beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board. The amount was distributed. On this occasion, 264 development works worth Rs 266 crore were gifted to the people of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
147 crore unemployment allowance to youth
Chief Minister Baghel said that the amount of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has been released keeping in mind the convenience of everyone. Since after the implementation of the code of conduct, permission has to be taken from the Election Commission, due to the fear of delay in this, it has been paid. The Chief Minister said that we have ensured ration to 73 lakh people. Rs 147 crore has been given to the youth as unemployment allowance.
The Chief Minister said that the work of giving the first installment of Rs 25-25 thousand to the beneficiaries for 7 lakh houses in Bilaspur was done. He said that we traveled across the state in the meet-meet program and everyone’s demand was that housing is needed. After this we decided to conduct an economic survey and on this basis we are providing housing to everyone. Chief Minister Baghel said that we took the decision in the interest of the farmers. It was decided to increase the price of paddy from Rs 15 to 20 quintals per acre. He said that recruitment has been done for more than 42 thousand posts in many departments for the youth.
Reservation should be implemented in the interest of women
During this, Mallikarjun Kharge said that there has been a tradition of giving representation to women in the Congress Party. He said that Mini Mata was also included among the representatives of Parliament elected from Chhattisgarh in independent India. Indira Gandhi became the first woman Prime Minister in the country. Pratibha Patil was elected the President of the country. Our opinion is that women’s reservation should be implemented right now. There should be a caste census. This will give clear information about the status of all sections.
Tribute paid to Dr. Swaminathan
During the program, Mallikarjun Kharge and Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to Dr. MS Swaminathan who brought green revolution in the country. Two minutes silence was observed. Kharge said that Dr. Swaminathan brought green revolution. He made me a member of the Agricultural University. His name became famous not only in India but all over the world. He was the Father of Green Revolution in India. Indira ji and Rajiv ji also praised him.
