Ajay Devgan’s father ran away from home and came to Mumbai
Actually, recently Ajay Devgan had appeared with Rohit Shetty in filmmaker Karan Johar’s most famous show ‘Coffee with Karan 8’, where he made many revelations related to his life and family. Ajay Devgan told in the show that when his father was 13 years old, he ran away from home and came to Mumbai. The actor told- “He was 13 years old when his father (Veeru Devgan) ran away from his home in old Punjab. He came to Bombay without a railway ticket and was thrown into jail. He had no work and hence was not able to even make ends meet. One day someone, while helping him, told him that if he cleaned his cab daily, he could sleep in it.
Ajay Devgan’s father was a gangster before being an action director.
Ajay further said, “His father started from there and became a carpenter. He then became one of the gangsters of Sion-Koliwada area. He was also a carpenter and there used to be gang wars. One day a very senior action director Mr. Ravi Khanna was passing by and there was a fight going on on the road. So, they stopped the car and called my dad after the fight and asked, ‘What do you do?’ He said, ‘I am a carpenter so, he said a very good line, ‘Tu ladta achcha hai, kal akar mujhse milna’ and made him a fighter. So that’s where he started.”
Veeru Devgan had directed more than 200 action films
Let us tell you that Veeru Devgan had choreographed the action sequences of more than 200 films. These include films like ‘Roti Kapda Aur Makaan’, ‘Mr Natwarlal’, ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ and ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’.
