The Gujarat government has come up with a new scholarship for the students who get admission under the Right to Education Act 2009 (RTE). Let’s know about it.

The Gujarat government has decided that 20 thousand rupees will be given every year to the students of a special category. Gujarat In its annual budget for 2023-24, the government has provided Rs 50 crore to give Rs 20,000 to students who get admission under the Right to Education Act 2009 (RTE). The state education department will conduct a competitive exam for Class VIII students and give a voucher of Rs 20,000 to the top scorers so that they can pursue further education in a private school.
Every year 25,000 students will be selected for this scholarship. As many as 20,000 schools will be upgraded with hi-tech equipment and infrastructure under the Mission of Excellence project in the state’s financial budget, which provides Rs 38,867 crore for primary, secondary and higher secondary education this year.

Many types of labs will be built in the state
Under this project, the state government will create 50,000 new classrooms, 1.5 lakh smart classrooms, 20,000 computer labs, 5,000 science, technology, engineering and maths labs (STEM) and vocational labs. The state government will spend Rs 3,109 crore for this. The state government will also set up 50 Gyan Shakti residential schools in the state for meritorious students studying in government schools and 10 Raksha Shakti residential schools for students of classes 6-12 studying in government schools.
There will be school assistants in 64 thousand schools
The state government will implement a new scheme of school assistants in 64,000 schools across the state. The education department will recruit school assistants to operate the labs and help the teachers and management in running the schools. If needed, they can also teach as assistant teachers. The government will spend Rs 87 crore on this.

sports assistant in 5000 schools
Keeping in view the 2036 Olympic Games, the state government will recruit sports assistants or assistant sports teachers in 5,000 schools with a strength of 300 students or more. The state government has provided Rs 66 crore for this.
