CBSE Board Exam has started. Let us tell the tips related to the English paper to the students giving the 10th and 12th class board exams.
CBSE Board’s English paper for Class 12 is on February 24 and for Class 10 on February 27. The students have completed the preparations. Both the papers will be of 80 marks. Time will be three hours. 15 minutes will be given separately to read the question paper. The first question in class 12th is likely to be about reading skills. One paragraph of about 400 words will be found in the question paper. From this MCQ based 10 questions will be asked. All these will be of one number. In the second question, there will be 10 MCQ or one line type questions. These will also be of one number each. After this, the third question based on writing skill is expected to be of five marks. Two notices will come. Only one has to be written. Answer must be written in maximum 50-60 words.
In how many words should the article-report be written?
The fourth question will be of five marks. Two questions will come in this. Invitation or any formal letter may have to be written. The word limit will be 40-50 words. One question can be about writing letter to editor or job application. It can also be of number five. There may be a question regarding writing an article or a report. It is suggested to write up to 150 words for this question of five marks.
Answer will be given in three passages
40 marks questions will be based on literature. Three passages will be written in the question paper. It must be from any chapter of the book. MCQ questions related to both poetry and prose are expected. It can be of 15-20 numbers. After this six or seven questions will be asked. Any five of these have to be done. All these will be of two numbers. These have to be answered in 20-30 words. Two such questions may come, in which 120-150 words may have to be written.
How will be the rest of the paper?
Similarly, two passages of Reading Comprehension will come in the 10th paper. Will be of 10-10 numbers. Some questions can also be asked along with MCQs. There will be 20 number questions related to Writing Skill and Grammar. Two options of the letter will be given. Only one has to be written. There will be two questions on paragraph writing. Will have to do the same. It will be number five. Some questions can come fill in the gap. One paragraph may have to be edited. There must have been some mistakes in the question. Students have to fix them themselves.

Give time to difficult questions later. Do practice writing letters. Now just revise. Fix a time of 5 minutes in advance, which should be used to repeat what is written at the end.
