Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said on Thursday, ‘If we found employees working in two companies and there was also the issue of confidentiality. In such a situation, in the last 12 months, we have fired many employees. However, he did not give information about how many people were fired for being caught doing moonlighting. Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji had said a few weeks ago that the company had fired 300 employees from the company for doing moonlighting.
Infosys to allow employees to work outside
At the same time, the Infosys CEO said that the company is coming up with a new policy, under which employees will be allowed to work outside. He said that Infosys has created a platform called Accelerate, where employees can earn extra money by doing other work in the company itself. Through this platform, they can also work on external projects. Infosys Accelerate and Infosys Gig Marketplace managers will determine the working hours. If anyone in the company wants to do these things, he/she will be free to do so.
CEO Salil Parekh said, ‘On an average 4000 people apply for these jobs in a quarter. There is a selection of 600 people in this. We support the aspiration of our employees to have a desire to learn in addition to work. We are developing more comprehensive policies ensuring that contractual confidentiality commitments are fully respected. However, we do not support doing two jobs.
40 thousand people got jobs in the half year
Infosys has hired 10,032 employees in the second quarter. In this way, the total number of employees has reached 3.4 lakhs. CFO Nilanjan Roy said, ‘The company has hired 40 thousand employees in the first half of the financial year. There is no delay in hiring the fresher.
