Housing, water to hospital facilities etc. should be given for transgenders and the biggest thing is that making laws is another thing, but it should be done. Implementation is important. It has to be seen how serious the government is about implementing it.

Let us inform that the Supreme Court of India had given a historic verdict in 2014. Transgenders were given the status of ‘third sex’. It said that the fundamental rights mentioned in the constitution for the citizens also apply to the third gender. The top court also sought reservation for the third gender in education and employment. After this, the Government of Karnataka introduced reservation for third gender in police recruitment. Maharashtra court has given this order. This time the government of this state is trying to ensure the rights of transgender people by bringing a law. The bill has been passed.
