Starbucks New CEO: American multinational coffee giant Starbucks has appointed Indian-origin Laxman Narasimhan as its new CEO. Narasimha will replace CEO Howard Schultz at Starbucks. Narasimman, 55, was most recently CEO of UK-based consumer health, hygiene for nutrition company Reckitt. Which manufactures Lysol, Sh Cleanser and Infamil Formulas among other products. Reckitt had announced the sudden departure of Narasimhar on Thursday. Shares of Reckitt fell as much as 5% after the departure announcement.

Narasimhan will join Starbucks after relocating to Seattle, London on October 1. The Wall Street Journal reported that Starbucks board chair Melody Hopson said the company believes we have found an extraordinary person in our next CEO, Laxman Narasimhan. He has done many remarkable works in his field. According to the report, Narasimhan will hold many responsibilities as CEO in the world’s largest coffee chain company.

Interim CEO by 2023
Option says Starbucks’ board has asked Schultz to remain as interim CEO until April 2023 to assist Narasimhan. According to The Wall National Journal, Narasim will assume the role of CEO and join the company’s board on April 1.
