Racial Attack on Indo American: In the US, a Sikh community man racially attacked another Indian-American citizen and spat in his face.
In California, USA, an Indian-American citizen made racist comments and abuses on another Indian. The accused named Tejinder Singh called Krishnan Jayaram a dirty Hindu and a disgusting dog. The incident happened on August 21 at Taco Bell restaurant in Fremont, California, the video of which has now surfaced.
Accused booked for spreading hatred
On Monday, 37-year-old Tejinder Singh was booked for hate crime, violation of civil rights, assault. In the documents, he has been described as Asian/Indian. Just a few days ago, a Mexican-American woman in Texas had a scuffle with racially attacking four Indian-American women. Tejinder Singh is also said to be an American citizen of Indian origin. The Fremont Police Department has booked Tejinder on hate crime charges of civil rights violations, assault and breach of the peace by using offensive language.

This hate crime was carried out on August 21 at Taco Bell restaurant in California. When Krishnan Jayaraman went to the restaurant to take his order, he was racially assaulted. The accused told him, “You are a Hindu who bathes in cow urine.” The assailant said, “Indian people are a joke…” and with this he kept on saying hysterical and indecent things.

The accused also abusing Jayaraman and instructed him not to come to the public place. It is alleged that Tejinder spat twice on Jayaraman’s face while using abusive language against Indians. It was only later that Jayaraman understood from the words and pronunciation of the attacker that he was also a person of Indian origin. Jayaraman told the media, “To be honest, I was scared. I was angry on one side but I feared what would happen if this man got very angry and then came after me.”

Police Chief Sean Washington wrote, “We take hate incidents and hate crimes seriously and understand their significant impact on the community. These incidents are condemnable. We are here to protect people of all communities irrespective of their gender, caste, nationality, religion and other differences.” Along with this, the police appealed to the people to respect each other’s community and report any such incident immediately.
