Prime Minister Torres is a lawyer and is considered one of President Castillo’s loyal allies. Torres told in a letter on social media last Wednesday that he was resigning for personal reasons.

“I am stepping down with you to serve my motherland and its most neglected and forgotten people,” Torres wrote in the letter addressed to Castillo. Torres continued, “Today I have to return to university classes with my students and what I missed the most is legal research.”
