India-China News: China has once again put a hindrance on a proposal of India, supporting terrorism. China did not approve India’s proposal to put dreaded terrorist Abdul Rauf Asghar in the list of designated terrorist of the UN Security Council 1267 Sanctions Committee. India has given a befitting reply to China on this issue. India has termed as “unfortunate and politically motivated” China’s ban on listing Pakistan’s terrorists in the United Nations.
India said it was unfortunate that the sanctions committee was prevented from performing its role due to political reasons. China’s actions expose its double standards and double standards when it comes to the international community’s common fight against terrorism. Such politically motivated actions by China undermine the way UNSC Sanctions Committees work in almost every Pakistan-based terrorist listing case. China is the only country in the 15-member UN Security Council committee that did not agree to put Rauf on this list of terrorists. All other 14 member states of the UNSC supported the listing proposal.

In 2010, the US Treasury had put Rauf on the list of terrorists.

After this, a resolution was also passed in the UNSC to declare this terrorist as a global terrorist, but China backed out. Asghar was arrested by Pakistani authorities on terror funding charges in 2019, but it is not clear where he is now. Abdul Rauf Azhar (Asghar) has been involved in the hijacking of Indian Airlines plane (1999), attack on Indian Parliament (2001), attack on Indian Air Force, attacks on security force personnel in Pathankot, Pulwama and other places in Jammu.
