For information, let us tell you that according to the new prices that came into effect from 12:00 pm, the price of one liter of octane has now become 135 Taka, which is 51.7 percent more than the previous rate of 89 Taka. Now the price of one liter of petrol in Bangladesh is now 130 Taka, that is, it has increased by 44 Taka or 51.1 percent since last night.
Bangladesh government issued statement
After the historic increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in Bangladesh, the Ministry of Energy, Power and Mineral Resources has issued a statement on behalf of the government. The ministry has said in a statement on its behalf that this decision has been taken due to the increase in fuel prices internationally.
Let us tell you that Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) in Bangladesh has suffered heavy losses between February and July this year due to the sale of fuel at a low price. The government has defended itself on the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in Bangladesh, saying that due to the increase in the international level fuel prices, many countries along with India have already taken these tough decisions.
