Canadian police have arrested a madman who used to attack Muslims especially. Police said Chandler Marshall of Toronto faces more than a dozen cases. He has misbehaved with a Muslim taxi driver and a hijabi woman in different cases. He is also accused of attacking worshipers with stones and bike chains in a Toronto mosque. He also used derogatory abuses at the Namazis.
In a statement issued after the attack on people outside the mosque, the National Council of Canadian Muslims shared full details of the incident. According to the NCCM, during morning prayers, the Toronto Islamic Center was attacked by a man who identified himself as an Israeli, carried out the attack to hurt Muslims and described Muslims as terrorists. The accused person tried to vandalize the mosque premises by throwing stones.
The safety of the worshipers should be ensured.
The organization further said it was in contact with Toronto police and described all three incidents as violent and Islamophobic. An official at the Islamic center outside which the attack took place said in a statement: We want to be clear. We will be afraid, while our first priority is to ensure the safety of the worshipers, we need some changes to fight all forms of hatred including Islamophobia. Meanwhile, the police on Wednesday revealed two other incidents involving Marshall.
Taxi driver, Hijabi woman attacked
Marshall had allegedly attacked a taxi driver in the Front and Yong area on Wednesday. Before the attack, the man asked the taxi driver’s religion and when he told him he was a Muslim, he sprayed it on his face and fled from the spot. After this, in another incident he approached a hijabi woman and said derogatory things about her hijab. Later he also attacked the woman and sprayed her on her face. Later the woman had to be admitted to the hospital.
