He said that the person who is missing had gone to Turkey on a business visit. There is no trace of him for the last two days. The person is an employee of a company in Bangalore. Verma said that we are in touch with the person’s company and family.
India has set up a control room in Aden
Verma has said that a control room has been set up in Aden, Turkey. So far, about 75 people have contacted us by calling the control room and sought information and assistance from the embassy. He said that three more Indians had contacted us who have reached a safe place and are feeling better. We have also deployed a rescue team in the affected area.
Weather hindering rescue work
The Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs said that the weather in the area where the earthquake occurred is also cold. The temperature is going around zero at night. Because of which along with transport, communication is also getting affected. Mobile networks have also been affected due to the earthquake, due to which there are problems in contacting people.
