The matter was raised in the High Court
During the hearing of a case in the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, Twitter told the court that if the government keeps ordering the blocking of accounts in this way, the day is not far when all the operations of Twitter in India will stop.

On this, the Karnataka High Court asked Twitter to make a list and submit all the orders given by the government in a sealed cover. At the same time, the Central Government, while presenting its stand, urged the High Court that the hearing of this matter should be done in-camera.
During the hearing in the High Court, Twitter’s lawyer said that the government has not yet clarified why it wants to block certain accounts. Twitter further said that it is not possible for it to close all accounts. Twitter has to explain why the account of the users is being closed. In such a situation, the accountability of Twitter cannot end. Significantly, the dispute between Twitter and the Government of India has been going on for a long time. The government has issued several notices to Twitter regarding the new IT rules.
