Cases of buying SIMs with fake identities have increased rapidly in the country. In such a situation, people who cheat by hiding their real identity make people a victim of fraud.
Can’t tell wrong identity
The Department of Telecom said in this regard that people will get a lot of relief with the coming of this law. People who are getting financially will be saved from loss. In such a situation, the rule of identification of people has been implemented in this bill at the right place. The Department of Telecommunications said that in sub-section 7 of section 4 of this bill, it is necessary for people to reveal their real identity. Through this bill, people will get the right to the user that through whom the calls coming to them are being made.
Doing so will get severe punishment
Users who take telecom service, if they reveal their false identity, they can be punished with imprisonment of 1 year, fine of Rs 50,000 as well as suspension of the user’s service. At the same time, in special circumstances, all three of these rules can be applied. Providing false identity on the basis of fake identity on SIM or any platform will be considered as a serious offence. In such a situation, the police can arrest even without a warrant. He can also initiate investigation of the case without the approval of the court.
