Sri Lanka cricket team defeated Bangladesh in the exciting match played in Asia Cup-2022. In this very exciting match, Sri Lanka won by two wickets. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 183 runs for the loss of seven wickets. The Sri Lankan team achieved this target with four balls to spare, but what a Sri Lankan player did after this victory is making headlines. The name of this player is Chamika Karunaratne. Karunaratne did something that remembered the 2018 Nidahas Trophy.
Sri Lanka needed eight runs in the last over. One run came off the first ball. Asita Fernando hit a four on the second ball. Two runs came off the third ball but it became a no ball at the same time. With this, Sri Lanka won and then the Sri Lankan players were stunned. Meanwhile, Karunaratne performed the serpent dance and celebrated the victory. Also took revenge on the old one. With this defeat, Bangladesh’s team was out of the Super-4 race.

Bangladesh did serpent dance
Actually, the Nidahas Trophy was played in Sri Lanka in 2018. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh took part in this series. The race for the final was very interesting. In such a situation, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets in the match played on March 16 and made a place in the title match after being out of the race for the final. After this victory, Bangladesh players did a serpent dance on the middle ground. Four years later, when Sri Lanka knocked Bangladesh out of the knockout round, Karunaratne avenged four years ago by sprinkling salt on Bangladesh’s wounds by performing a serpent dance.

Cold war was on before the match
The rivalry between these two teams was seen inside the field, even before this, the round of statements from both the teams was going on outside the field as well. Before the match, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka had said that Bangladesh has no other good bowlers apart from Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman. Bangladesh team director Khalid Mahmood was not happy with this. When he was asked about the statement of the Sri Lankan captain in the press conference, he said that Sri Lanka does not have a single world class bowler.
