Suit vs Scary: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has equaled former India captain Virat Kohli in terms of the record for the joint fastest to 3000 runs in the shortest format of the game. Babar Azam made this record in the 6th T20 match played against England. Babar Azam, 27, became the fifth male player to achieve the milestone in this format and the eighth overall. He also became the first Pakistani batsman to score 3000 T20I runs during his fifty not out off 59 balls against England (Pak vs Eng) in the sixth T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Babar Azam equals Kohli’s record
Babar Azam joins an elite list of T20I batsmen in the 3000-run club. India’s Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have topped the men’s T20 Internationals with more than 3000 runs. Martin Guptill and Paul Stirling are the others in the club. However, Azam scored 3000 runs in 81 innings, equaling Virat Kohli’s record in this format. Kohli and Azam are the only two batsmen to have achieved this feat in less than 100 innings. In women’s T20Is, Suzy Bates, Meg Lanning and Stephanie Taylor have more than 3000 runs. Overall, Babar is the eighth player to hit the landmark in T20Is.

England won the match by eight wickets
Batting first, Pakistan team scored 169 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the match. For Pakistan, captain Babar Azam scored an unbeaten 87 while playing a brilliant innings. In reply, chasing the target, the England team started the match and won the match by eight wickets in 14.3 overs. For England, Philip Salt played an unbeaten innings of 88 runs in 41 balls.
