Japanese: One of the biggest sporting events in the world, the Football World Cup is being held in Qatar. Goals are being scored here, records are being made. But recently a reel has given prominence to this event beyond sports. In this reel, the people of Japan are seen cleaning the entire stadium after watching the match. The surprise increased when it came to know that Japan was not playing in this match. In the same reel, some Japanese gentlemen are seen saying that they are cleaning because ‘we respect the place’. This reel has now been viewed millions of times. In India too, crores of people have seen and appreciated it on social media. We are overwhelmed by it too.
Now this social media clip is not just a means of entertainment but is also raising some questions. Our own country is bad….. Nothing can happen to this country….. Look what is the condition abroad…… We often say all these things. We all must have cursed the filth, bad electricity, corruption and deteriorating situation in our country and state…. but is this a point of view. Have you ever seen from this point of view what we are doing? Why do they throw polythene in the rivers… they throw polythene here and there without thinking that this polythene is the biggest reason for choking the drains… it only causes water logging. We curse the governments due to water logging but cannot take the small responsibility of not throwing polythene.
we never blame
We encroach by increasing our house for a few inches or by keeping the things of the shop outside the shop and cursing the government when there is a jam….First of all we give money to get the work done, then we curse the corruption. …… Don’t even bother to go one step ahead and throw the garbage at the dustbin or till the dustbin and then cry for the filth. They waste water and electricity and then because of their lack, they get tempted by seeing the sparkling foreign countries.
We keep on giving electricity, water and roads for all, only the government, only the government. Why the people run the country and not the government. Instead of running the country, they make the country. A country is not made of only geography, atlas and borders. A country is made of people. by the feelings of the people. Out of patriotism. Patriotism is not dependent on opportunities. While celebrating Independence Day, Republic Day, or any cricket match, it is not even a mark of hoisting the tricolor, putting the tricolor on the dashboard on the poles of the car.
Not limited to just the occasion. Patriotism is a feeling, it is continuous, it is continuous. Country is first, we are later. But the problem with us is also that we are the first. From worshiping in temples to movie tickets to breaking the line, we have forgotten to hesitate to pay money. Then they say that the system is bad.
It is not even that the people are bad, the system is perfect. But no system is perfect. America, whose system we mostly do not get tired of describing as ideal, has problems like corruption, murder, rape, corrupt leaders, widespread disturbances in the education system and apartheid, while Britain is struggling with sectarianism, sectarianism, corruption, unemployment. In fact, in the global system, problems with society are no longer restricted to borders. Ramrajya cannot happen anywhere, but we who cry out for him, how much Ram can we bring within ourselves. It is not necessary to become God to become Ram, the element of Ramatva is sufficient. Elements like honesty, not doing wrong, not tolerating are the steps to move towards Ramatva.
For fundamental rights, it is necessary to perform fundamental duties as well.
We have always talked about fundamental rights but did not consider it necessary to follow fundamental duties 100% because we cannot be punished for not following them. The Fundamental Duties of citizens were added to the Constitution by the 42nd Amendment in 1976, on the recommendations of the Swaran Singh Committee set up by the government. Originally ten in number, the number of fundamental duties was increased to eleven by the 86th amendment in 2002.
Other fundamental duties oblige citizens to respect the national symbols of India including the Constitution, cherish its heritage, preserve its composite culture and help protect it. Tattooing of your name, expression of love, date of arrival written on national monuments is testifying that how conscious we are about our heritage. Overwhelmed by their heritage by going abroad, have we ever thought what we are going to do with this kind of craftsmanship.
Similarly, we have cursed the shortage of water a lot, but have we ever tried to stop the tap flowing on the road for two minutes and stop it. We always regret the lack of light, but we argue about lighting the whole house that we are paying the electricity bill. Surely they are paying, but is this electricity only ours and not the country’s? Will it not be our contribution for the electricity of the country and the state if we save a few thousand units in a year?
We have to work with the spirit of our country
In fact, consumerism and the power to buy everything with money has killed the village well, dried up the ponds, that is, limited the scope of public and social responsibility to the apartment’s own flat. Here this argument does not mean that what was good and what should be, but the question is that when we will move towards the spirit of our country more than me and mine.
People have become aware about cleanliness in the country. But still many people consider cleanliness to be sponsored by any government or party. We can learn a lot from what the Japanese did in Qatar.
