CWG 22 Day 10: India got off to a great start on the 10th day of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Indian women’s hockey team started the day with a bronze medal. On the other hand, India’s Neetu Ghanghas has won gold in the 45-48kg category. Neetu had a match with English boxer Dammy Jade Reztan in the final in which he won a landslide victory.
Neetu’s spectacular victory in a one-sided match
Neetu did an amazing job in the ring. This was the reason that the five judges unanimously declared Neetu a 5-0 victory. Neetu played very aggressively in this tournament and her same aggressive form was seen in the final as well. He rained England’s boxers, which made the England player completely on the backfoot.

Neetu defeated Priyanka Dhillon of Canada in the semifinals. In the third round of this match, he threw so many punches at the Canadian boxer that the referee had to stop the game and declare Neetu the winner. His aggressive form was seen in the quarterfinals as well. Neetu lashed out at the opposition Irish boxer Clyde Nicholl in such a way that he was declared the winner only after the second round.
Neetu is participating for the first time in Commonwealth Games
21-year-old Neetu is participating in the Commonwealth Games for the first time. Neetu hails from Dhanana village in Bhiwani district of Haryana. She trains every day at the Boxing Club in Dhanana, 20 km away from the village. To make Neetu a boxer, her father had even put his job at stake.
