CWG 2022: England and Canada players clashed during a hockey match at the Birmingham Commonwealth on Thursday. In this match, England defeated Canada by a huge margin of 11-2. But during the match there was a fierce fight between the players of England and Canada.
Why was there a fight between the players?
Actually, the clash between England and Canada started even before the half time of the match. By half time, England had maintained a 4-1 lead. In such a situation, the Canadian team was looking for the goal and was showing a constant aggressive attitude. Meanwhile, there was a fight between Balraj Panesar of Canada and Chris Griffith of England to snatch the ball.

The referee showed Panesar the red and Griffith the yellow card.
During the game, Balraj’s hockey stick got stuck on Griffith’s hand. This enraged Griffith and pushed Panesar. This led to a fierce fight between the two players. Panesar angrily grabbed Griffith. After this, both the players were also seen pulling each other’s T-shirts.
The tussle between the two players escalated to such an extent that the referee had to intervene and defend before the matter escalated into a fight. The referee showed Panesar a red card to initiate the fight and warned Griffth with a yellow card.
