CWG 2022: Indian weightlifter Achinta Sheuli did wonders in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Achinta has won another gold medal for India by lifting a weight of 313 kg in weight lifting. Young weightlifter Achinta is participating in the National Division for the first time. The 20-year-old has won the country’s third gold medal by beating a new record in the men’s 73 kg category late on Sunday night. Achinta, who hails from West Bengal, has won the Commonwealth Games record by lifting a weight of 313 kg.
143 kg lifted
He lifted 143 kg in snatch which is a new Commonwealth Games record. After that he lifted 170 kg in clean and jerk. Let us inform that Achinta, who won a silver medal at the Junior World Weightlifting General Championships last year, did both the best lifts in the third attempt. Malaysia’s E Hidayat Mohamed got the silver medal and Canada’s Shad Darsigny got the bronze. They lifted 303 and 298 kg respectively.

Won gold medal by lifting 143 kg
Achinta lifted 137 kg in the first round of snatch. In the second attempt, he lifted 140 kg. Also, in the third attempt, he won the gold medal for the country by lifting 143 kg. After the victory, Achinta said that I am very happy. After overcoming many struggles i have won gold medal i will give this medal to my brother and everyone support him. After that I will prepare for the Olympics.
