Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy beat Sachin Dias and T Hendaheva 21-14, 21-9 in mixed doubles to give India a 1-0 lead. World Championship bronze medalist Lakshya Sen defeated Niluka Karunaratne 21-18, 21-5 in her first match after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Aakrishi Kashyap defeated Suhasani Vidanage 21-3, 21-9. B Sumeeth Reddy and Chirag Shetty then put together a 21-10, 21-13 win over Dumindu Abhayavikrama and Sachin Dias to take India’s lead 4-0. In the last match, Gayatri Gopichand and Trisa Jolly defeated T Hendaheva and Vidara Suhasani Vidanage 21-18, 21-6.
