IPL 2023: As the next season of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) is coming closer, a lot of talk is going on among all the viewers on when the IPL will start. All the franchises had already released the list of released players and retained players of their teams for IPL 2023 before the mega auction. But now the discussion has intensified on when the IPL will start because the World Test Championship (WTC) is also to be held in the first week of June itself, so now the IPL can start earlier this time than all the seasons.
IPL 16 can start from this date
The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is to be played this time and according to reports, this time the IPL season may start in late March or early April next year. The 16th season of IPL can start from 31 March or 1 April. The stakeholders of IPL have spoken to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the apex cricket body has indicated on the above two dates. With Gujarat Titans set to defend their title, the defending champions could start their campaign at home, and thus the first match of IPL 2023 could be at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.

World Test Championship is also to be played in June
The same report states that the final of the World Test Championship could be held in the first week of June, which could give a headache to the BCCI, as the possible dates for the IPL 2023 final could be either May 28 or June 4. If Team India qualifies for the WTC 2023 final to be played at The Oval, the BCCI will have to reschedule the IPL dates as the ICC has planned to hold the WTC 2023 final around June 7-11.
