Jaipur (EMS). After meeting Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said he hoped to work closely with former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot in an effort to resolve the political crisis. In fact, on Monday, Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, party general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal, state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa discussed in detail with Gehlot and Pilot for four hours. Gehlot said on Tuesday, if he (Pilot) is in the party, then why won’t he do this (work together)? Gehlot was replying to a question when asked if there and pilots would work together in Rajasthan.
He said, last evening’s meeting was called to sort out the issues and fight together in the state. The Chief Minister said that the post is not important for me. I have been chief minister thrice in my life and I ask everyone to be patient. Gehlot said, and I have also been a minister three times and the party has given me everything. Today it is my duty to do what the high command wants me to do to win the elections and play the role they want me to do. I have all kinds of plans for the people. He said, by giving trust you win trust. As Sonia Gandhi had said in the convention that those who have patience definitely get a chance one day or the other. After the meeting, Venugopal said that both Gehlot and Pilot have agreed to jointly fight the BJP in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee has been in a state of turmoil since July 2020, when Pilot revolted demanding a change of leadership. After the rebellion, Pilot was removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister. He was also removed from the post of State Congress President.
