Vice Presidential Election 2022: It will be a contest between the opposition’s candidate Margaret Alva and NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar. Elections for the post of Vice President in the country are to be held on 6 August.
Opposition candidate Margaret Alva has received the support of another opposition party in the vice presidential election. Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Keshava Rao said his party would support Margaret Alva in the upcoming vice-presidential election. TRS MP Rao said party president K. Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to support Margaret Alva, the joint opposition candidate for the post of Vice President.
Rao said outside Parliament that TRS MPs have been asked to vote for him. Margaret Alva will also meet TRS MPs this evening. In the presidential election, TRS supported Yashwant Sinha, the joint candidate of the opposition. Alva is up against Jagdeep Dhankhar, the candidate of the ruling National Democratic Alliance. The election for the post of Vice President will be held this tomorrow (August 6).

Who is Margaret Alva?
Margaret Alva has substantial political and administrative experience. She held the portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs, Youth and Sports, Women and Child Development from 1984 to 1985. She has been the Union Minister of State in the field of Science and Technology. Margaret Alva knows parliamentary issues very well. She has been a member of several House panels. She also has a better understanding of foreign affairs. She has also worked in the fields of information broadcasting, women’s development, tourism and transport. In 1974, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha. She was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in the year 1999. Then he did not approach the Parliament. Margaret Alva has also been the Governor of Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.
