Custody increased for so many days
Let us tell you that the custody of Raut in the money laundering case was ending today i.e. on Thursday. So the ED produced him in the special court and the court sent Raut to the ED’s custody for 5 days, while ruling in favor of the ED.
Significantly, the ED had searched two locations in Mumbai in the Patra Chawl scam. The search also included the residence of a person who was involved in HDIL cash transactions. After this the ED arrested Raut.
What is Patra Chawl scam
It is being told that the whole matter started in the year 2007, when Ashish Construction (which is the sister company of HDIL) was given the task of developing Patra Chawl. The company was to give 672 flats to the people living there and about 3000 flats to MHADA. This entire land was of 47 acres.
It is alleged that Guru Ashish Construction did not do any development there nor gave the flat to MHADA, but instead sold the entire land and the FSI 8 builder for Rs 1,034 crore. In this case, the ED arrested Praveen Raut, a close aide of Sanjay Raut, after which Sanjay Raut’s name also surfaced in this case.
