BJP candidate lost by four votes
On Saturday, the voting for the post of District Panchayat President started at 11 am, the time of voting was till 3 pm but all the 14 district panchayat members of the district voted till 2 pm, after which the counting of votes started at 3 pm, in which Congress candidate Sonam Singh got 10 votes while BJP candidate Satyavati Singh lost by 4 votes.

Sonam Singh is the daughter of former Congress MP and former district president Late Tilak Raj Singh. Sonam Singh has been elected unopposed as District Panchayat member even before this. 26-year-old Sonam is a student and the youngest woman to become the Zilla Panchayat President. This victory of Congress has brought the BJP to a standstill. District Election Officer Rajiv Ranjan Meena handed over the certificate of victory to Sonam Singh after winning the election of District Panchayat President. At the same time, party leaders and workers congratulated Sonam Singh for her victory.
