HP Budget2023: CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu presented Himachal’s budget 2023-24 in the assembly today. This is also his first budget as the Finance Minister. In this financial year, the budget 2023 was about 53 thousand 413 crore rupees. In which CM Sukhu has taken note of some big announcements. In which emphasis has been laid on the goal of giving tourism based economy and momentum to the state and the producer state of large green energy.
• Green Energy State
CM Sukhu has set a target of making Himachal a green energy state by March 2026. The target is to produce 500 MW of solar power this year. Youth will be able to set up projects of up to 250 MW on leased land with 40 percent subsidy.
• Tourism will give impetus to the economy
Will make Himachal the pinnacle of tourism based economy. For this, Kangra district will be developed. Mandi airport will be constructed along with Kangra. A zoo of 300 crores will be built in Kangra itself.
• Emphasis on infrastructure development and investment
Bureau of Investment Promotion will be established in the state for the convenience of investors with the new industrial policy. One district will encourage one product policy. Apart from this, 50 Him Era shops will be set up for self-help groups.
• Opportunities for farmers and herders
People engaged in animal husbandry, farmers and fisheries will be given the benefit of CM Him Unnati Yojana. Exemption scheme for mesh flood barriers for protection of fields. Himganga scheme will be made for milk production. Horticulture will be developed in 7 districts with Rs 1292 crore.

• Increase in MGNREGA wages
CM Sukhu announced an increase of Rs 28 in MNREGA daily wages. This will benefit 9 lakh laborers. Anganwadi workers will get Rs 9500 every month. Mini Anganwadi workers will now get Rs 6600. Asha workers will get Rs 5200, mid-day meal workers Rs 4000 and outsourcing workers will be given at least Rs 11250.
• Digitalization and Governance
Now emphasis is being laid on developing the system of e-office. Use of WhatsApp and chat bot for CM Seva Sankalp Helpline. A new app will be linked to the Mukhyamantri Seva Sankalp helpline for information about stray animals. All the benefits will be given to the beneficiaries directly from the DBT portal.
• Increase in MLA Area Development Fund
CM Sukhu increased the MLA Area Development Fund Scheme amount to 2 crore 10 lakh. MLA discretionary fund increased to 13 lakhs. MLAs will now be able to give directions for schemes on the basis of priority. Formation of flying squad to curb illegal mining. Information about HRTC buses, charging stations will be available on the vehicle location app.
