Pathak’s phone was also investigated
Official sources said that the statement of MLA from Rajendra Nagar, Pathak, is being recorded under the criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Sources had earlier said that Pathak is to be questioned for his role in the case and his alleged links with Vijay Nair, former CEO of an entertainment and event management company. The ED has also examined Pathak’s phone after the first phase of its raids on September 6. The agency conducted the second round of searches last week. As for the first time, raids were conducted at more than 40 places in many states.
Is liquor policy on target or MCD elections?
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, “ED has summoned AAP’s MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak today. What does our MCD election in-charge have to do with the excise policy of the Delhi government? Is liquor policy on their target or MCD elections? The MCD elections in Delhi are likely to be held by the end of this year after the delimitation of 270 wards is completed. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and named Sisodia as an accused in connection with alleged irregularities in the policy. From there, the money laundering case of ED has emerged.
MCD elections to be held in Delhi
Atishi, AAP’s MLA from Kalkaji, targeted the BJP, alleging that the ED’s summon to Pathak has made it clear that the real target is the rising political graph of AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal and not the excise policy. AAP’s chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the ED’s action has made it clear that the MCD elections are going to be held in Delhi.
‘BJP-CBI-ED alliance will contest elections’‘

Calling brother Durgesh Pathak by ED, it is clear that MCD elections are about to take place.” Lieutenant Governor V.K. The Arvind Kejriwal government withdrew the policy in July after Saxena had recommended a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy.
