The Confidence Motion brought by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been passed in the Delhi Assembly. In the absentee voting of BJP MLAs, 58 AAP MLAs voted in support of Kejriwal, while not a single vote came in the opposition. The Aam Aadmi Party has 62 MLAs in the 70-seat assembly. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the reason for the absence of three AAP MLAs was also given.
AAP government showed majority through division of votes. The votes were counted by standing up the legislators. 59 MLAs (including Deputy Speaker) were present in the House. Zero votes were cast in the protest as the opposition was not present in the house. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that one of the three AAP MLAs who are not there, Satyendra Jain is in jail. Another Speaker, Ram Niwas Goel, is in Canada, while another MLA, Naresh Balyan, has gone to Australia.
After Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s name cropped up in the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (BJP) had accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to break up and contact 12 MLAs, including Sisodia. After this, on Friday last Friday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself had moved the motion of trust vote in the house.

Voting on this could not take place due to the uproar in the House for the last several days. The beginning of the proceedings again on Thursday was tumultuous. Three BJP MLAs were evicted with the help of marshals for the entire session after an argument with the Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla. After this the rest of the MLAs also walked out. Birla ordered that BJP MLAs Vijender Gupta, Abhay Verma and Mohan Singh Bisht be thrown out with the help of marshal. Soon after, the rest of the BJP MLAs walked out of the assembly. Birla said opposition members came to the assembly to attract media attention and did not care about people-centric issues.

BJP party of illiterate and idiots: Kejriwal
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once again lashed out at the BJP and made many allegations and called it a party of illiterate-stupids. Describing his party as staunchly honest, he said that there are educated people in his party. The Delhi CM took a jibe at the BJP saying that earlier he used to say that Kejriwal did not build any school and now he is saying why so many schools were built. He said that he makes two demands, first that the BJP should stop the purchase of MLAs and not waive the loans of billionaire friends.
