New Delhi . The Lok Sabha on Monday passed a resolution revoking the suspension of suspended MPs from the House.
Before the discussion on inflation in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury demanded withdrawal of suspension of suspended opposition MPs. Praising the working style of the Speaker, he said that the parties and the opposition want to discuss all the issues of public interest. However, sometimes we have to raise issues loudly and also have to protest to make our point.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla once again warned all the members that showing placards in front of the podium is to harm the dignity of the House. If anyone does this in future, appropriate action will be taken as per the rules.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi also urged the opposition to maintain the dignity of the House. He urged to follow the rules made for the smooth conduct of the proceedings of the House and moved a motion to withdraw the suspension which was passed by voice vote.
Earlier, a meeting of leaders of all parties was held in Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s office. In the meeting, it was agreed to cancel the suspension of the suspended members.
