March to Rashtrapati Bhavan, siege of PM’s residence
On Thursday, Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the Congress will organize a massive demonstration in Delhi, march to Rashtrapati Bhavan and gherao the Prime Minister’s residence against rising inflation, unemployment and imposition of GST on essential goods. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members of Congress will take out a march from Parliament House to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said permission has been sought for the march to Rashtrapati Bhavan and it is expected that more than 80 party MPs will be allowed to go there peacefully. The party will also organize a gherao program of the Prime Minister’s residence in which CWC members and senior leaders will participate. The CWC is the supreme policy-making body of Congress.
There will be ‘Raj Bhavan Gherao’ in the states
The Congress has asked its state units to organize a ‘Raj Bhavan Gherao’ on August 5 on behalf of the State Congress Committee in which MLAs, members of the Legislative Council, former MPs and senior leaders of the state unit will be involved.

The party also decided that from the panchayat to the district level, the representatives of the Congress would protest at the district headquarters and give their arrest.
