If the rain continues like this, the standing crop ready for harvesting will increase the risk of rotting due to the water filled in the fields. CM ordered to assess the loss
CM Mann has ordered to assess the damage caused to the wheat crop due to this unseasonal rain and hailstorm. He assured that after the assessment, the state government would give compensation to the affected farmers as per the prescribed norms. It is determined to provide proper compensation to the farmers for the loss caused by this natural crisis. A spokesperson of the Punjab CM’s office said that CM Mann has issued strict guidelines by ordering the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) to get the damage done to crops assessed on a priority basis by his subordinate deputy commissioners.
