Due to this unseasonal rain and hailstorm, wheat crop has suffered huge damage in many states including Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. According to the information being received, Punjab has suffered the most. When the time of harvest is drawing near. Then, due to unseasonal rains like this, the farmers have suffered huge losses.

This unseasonal rain and hailstorm has caused heavy losses to Punjab and its wheat farmers. Punjab comes in the category of the country’s largest wheat producing state. The wheat crop in about 1.5 lakh acres of the state has fallen due to the stormy winds. If the rain continues like this, the standing crop ready for harvesting will increase the risk of rotting due to the water filled in the fields. This will also affect the wheat production of the country due to crop damage.

CM ordered to assess the loss
CM Mann has ordered to assess the damage caused to the wheat crop due to this unseasonal rain and hailstorm. He assured that after the assessment, the state government would give compensation to the affected farmers as per the prescribed norms. It is determined to provide proper compensation to the farmers for the loss caused by this natural crisis. A spokesperson of the Punjab CM’s office said that CM Mann has issued strict guidelines by ordering the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) to get the damage done to crops assessed on a priority basis by his subordinate deputy commissioners.
