He also claimed at a press conference that the BJP was exposing “fake stories of corruption” as part of a “conspiracy” to shut down all government schools and open private schools in the national capital. .
Terming the BJP a “party of illiterates”, Sisodia alleged that at least 72,000 government schools have been closed in BJP-ruled states to pave the way for private schools.
His claims came a day after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena sought a report from the Chief Secretary on the delay of over two-and-a-half years in acting on the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) report on the probe into the construction of additional classes in government schools.
The Vigilance Secretary had sent this report to the CVC in February, 2020, in which huge irregularities and procedural lapses were found in the implementation of the project. The Vigilance Secretary had sought the opinion of the CVC on further investigation and action.
Sisodia said, “Barring the issue of liquor, they have now started making up a concoction of scams in the construction of school buildings of the Delhi government from tomorrow.”
However, he did not mention the instructions given by the Lieutenant Governor to the Chief Secretary.
