MP Election 2023: As the MP assembly elections 2023 are coming closer, the political parties of the state have intensified their efforts to help different sections. In this connection, MP BJP has now started a similar exercise. He called a meeting of the OBC Morcha today at his state BJP office to help the OBC class. OBC MLA MP and many office bearers were present in this meeting. Many senior party officials including CM Shivraj were present in this meeting.
Why the meeting of OBC front was needed
If you look at the pattern of BJP’s votes for the last few years, it is known that the OBC class of MP is associated with BJP. The main reason for which has been to make Babulal Gaur and Uma Bharti the CM. Secondly, OBCs are the biggest section in the population of MP. Which is close to 49 percent. Kushwaha and Kurmi caste have a big political dominance in OBC too. With this, a total of 60 MLAs in the assembly are from the OBC category.

In the current 60 OBC MLAs in the MP Assembly, the BJP has the highest number of 40, followed by the Congress which has 19 OBC MLAs. Geographically, there are 13 districts in Vindhyachal of MP, Singrauli, Rewa, Satna, Panna, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, Datia and Morena, then areas like Chambal and Bundelkhand are the largest in the state. There are more OBC dominated areas.
