Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal introduced a motion of confidence in the Assembly on Monday. Before the resolution, BJP MLAs demanded a discussion on sewer-water and corruption, after which all the MLAs were thrown out of the house for the whole day. Here, all AAP MLAs will stage a sit-in inside the Delhi Assembly throughout the night demanding the resignation of LG Vinay Kumar Saxena.
Kejriwal has taken this step amid reports of CBI raids on Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s house and AAP MLAs being in touch with BJP. Read what he said..
The CM of Delhi said that the present central government is the most corrupt government in 75 years of independence. His friends ate 10 lakh crores. He bought MLAs for 6300 crores and says from Red Fort – I am fighting against corruption.
He said that the BJP has run Operation Lotus in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. Trying in Jharkhand also. He had tried in Delhi also, but failed. 800 crores were left behind by them.
AAP MLAs will sit on dharna in Delhi Assembly against the Lieutenant Governor. The MLAs will also protest in the night.
The proceedings of the Assembly have been adjourned till Tuesday due to the protest against the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
Why did Kejriwal bring the vote of confidence in the assembly
There are total 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The ruling AAP has 62 MLAs and the BJP 8. Despite AAP having more than two-thirds majority, Kejriwal moved the trust vote. There are two main reasons behind this.
trying to spread the message of solidarity
Four MLAs held a press conference and said that BJP people are trying to buy them. The MLAs claimed that they are offering 20-20 crore rupees for this. After the press conference of the MLAs, Arvind Kejriwal had called a meeting at his residence on Thursday, in which 9 MLAs did not reach. After 9 MLAs did not reach, many kinds of speculations were being made. In such a situation, Kejriwal wants to give a message of solidarity within the AAP in the House by bringing a motion of confidence.
Strong entry in Gujarat elections
After winning the trust vote, there is no threat to the government for 6 months. According to sources, Kejriwal wants to show the Delhi government strong by getting the trust vote, so that his party can fight strongly in the Gujarat elections.
AAP MLA said – LG is accused of Rs 1400 crore scam
AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak leveled serious allegations against Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena within the assembly. He said- Vinay Saxena has committed a scam of Rs 1400 crore when LG was in Khadi and Village Industries Department.
2 reasons for the discord between AAP-BJP
On August 19, the CBI raided Manish Sisodia’s house regarding the excise policy. It lasted for about 14 hours and the CBI had registered a case in this matter under the PMLA Act. Since then, AAP has been vocal against the ruling party BJP at the Centre.
Sisodia had said after the raid that the BJP had offered him to quit AAP and become the CM. On the other hand, BJP said in response – Aam Aadmi Party is creating an atmosphere of lies to avoid the allegation of corruption.
Now the story of the confidence motion in which the Vajpayee government had fallen
In the year 1999, the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was full of confidence in the Lok Sabha, presented a confidence motion in the Lok Sabha in favor of his government. There was a lot of debate on this. During this, the people of the country got to hear some of the best arguments in parliamentary history. In the end voting, the Vajpayee government fell by one vote. The incident of the fall of the government by one vote in Parliament is considered historical.
Confidence motion was moved 12 times in the history of the Indian Parliament. Out of which 3 times the government had to resign. First to VP Singh in 1990, second to HD Deve Gowda in 1997 and third to Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1999.
