There can be many political reasons behind this, but Mayawati’s less active in state politics can be considered as the biggest reason.
Mayawati took over the command of this party formed on 14 April 1984 on 18 September 2003. Since then, he achieved many important positions in Dalit politics. Some or the other controversy was always associated with her, but still Mayawati’s political power kept increasing.
Changed the path of politics in the desire to become PM
In 2007, the people of Uttar Pradesh gave full majority to Mayawati’s party BSP. At this time, Mayawati felt that she might have been able to form the government in the state because of upper caste voters, especially Brahmin votes. Following this path, Mayawati changed her party’s politics whose motto was ‘Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaye’ to Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaye.
Mayawati had done this because she felt that if the organization’s government is formed at the center, then she can get a chance to become the Prime Minister and during this time she will be supported by the upper castes. Not only Motto but Mayawati also changed her working style during this period. After this the downfall of Mayawati’s party started and she had to face defeat in many elections one after the other.
Defeated one after the other, but the blame game continues
Mayawati has faced defeat since the 2007 assembly elections. But every time instead of accepting defeat, Mayawati has tried to avoid it on others. Mayawati had lost the 2008 bypolls. After which it was discussed that Mayawati’s support is decreasing among her voters. Even in the 2009 Lok Sabha, his party did not perform very well. During this, he had said that his vote share has increased.
After this, after the defeat in the 2012 assembly elections, he had said that he had to face defeat due to the spread of wrong information about the monuments built by him. After this, he did not get a single seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After this, he told the Muslim voters the reason for his defeat. After this, during the assembly elections in 2017, he blamed his defeat on the EVM machine.
