Gopeshwar: The hours-long raid by the Kerala Police in Gopeshwar in the state of Uttarakhand remains a topic of discussion. The discussion is also because a police team from a South Indian state arrived for hours to raid a quiet place like Gopeshwar in Uttarakhand. During this raid, the Special Task Force of Uttarakhand state i.e. STF Uttarakhand was also present. Actually this joint raid was done in search of a murderer. Who escaped from Kerala and was hiding in Gopeshwar.
This case of murder was executed on 21 February 2023. The killers killed Abdul Shahad, a resident of Thrissur, Kerala, in that incident. 10 people were involved in that incident of murder that took place in Thrissur, Kerala. All these facts were confirmed by Uttarakhand STF Chief SSP Ayush Aggarwal in a conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh (Digital) on Friday. Murder incident in Cherpu police station of Kerala
When the Kerala Police team reached Uttarakhand, the STF team was also sent along with it to Gopeshnar. Where there was a strong apprehension of the wanted murderer being hidden. The police team of Kerala had reached Uttarakhand from Thana Cherpu district Trichur. The Kerala police had told the Uttarakhand police that the murder incident was carried out in the Cherpu area of Kerala police station in the month of February, in that case the mob has created ruckus in Kerala.
Unrest is widespread. Law and order has broken down at many places in Kerala. Angry people insist that all the absconding murderers should be arrested. There is also a huge law and order problem. The Kerala Police had received input that some of the accused involved in the murder had hid in Uttarakhand. That’s why the Kerala Police along with the Uttarakhand STF made a plan to raid Gopeshwar.

All four arrested accused on transit remand
Information regarding the accused was collected by the Uttarakhand STF. This information was collected with the help of manual and surveillance. Then it came to know that some people from Kerala are hiding in Gopeshwar district Chamoli. On this information, the STF team along with the Kerala Police went to Gopeshwar and started searching for the accused. During the raid, on March 17, 2023, police teams found four accused near Gopeshwar bus stand. The four arrested accused Aamir, Arun, Sohail and Niranjan are being taken back to Kerala on transit remand.
One of the arrested accused Karappam Vettil district Thrissur Kerala, the second accused Kokkatti district Trichur, the third accused Kurambilla district Trichur and the fourth arrested accused Kurumith district Trichur. The age of all four is between 30 and 21 years. For the arrest of these four accused, Uttarakhand STF jurisdictional officer STF Vivek Kumar, Inspector Abul Kalam, SI Yadwinder Singh Bajwa, SI Dilbar Negi, HC Brijendra Chauhan, constable Mahendra Negi were constable Mohan Aswal. Whereas SI Ajit ASI Sine, HC Soni and SOG team of District Chamoli were also included in the Kerala Police team.
